  • 20. East Rivanna Fire Station Easements. To receive public comment on the proposed vacation of a two-acre drainfield easement and a fifty-foot-wide access easement, both of which are jointly held by the County and the East Rivanna Volunteer Fire Company, on a portion of Parcel ID 093A1-00-00-004R0, located at 3721 Richmond Road, northeast of the East Rivanna Fire Station. The easements are proposed for vacation in exchange for providing the Fire Station with access to the public water and sewer system.

  • 21. Open Air Burning Regulations for Land Clearing and Development Operations. To receive public comment on its intent to adopt an ordinance to amend Chapter 6, Fire Protection, Article IV, Burning of Brush, etc., of the Albemarle County Code. The proposed ordinance, authorized by 9 VAC 5-130-100, would amend the open burning regulations related to the development of land to: (i) authorize the Fire Marshal to order the extinguishment of an open burning operation when open burning creates or adds to a hazardous situation or when a required permit for open burning has not been obtained; (ii) clarify that open burning currently permitted on private property shall be limited to materials originating from the premises of the private property and that open burning currently permitted for the disposal of debris waste shall be limited to waste originating from and located on the premises; (iii) increase the required distance of a burning from an occupied building from 500 feet to 2,000 feet unless the occupants have given prior permission, or to 1,000 feet if a special incinerator device is us

  • 22. Ordinance to Amend County Code Chapter 4, Animals and Fowl. To receive public comment on its intent to adopt an ordinance to amend Chapter 4, Animals and Fowl, of the Albemarle County Code by reorganizing and rewriting the chapter, repealing obsolete and unnecessary provisions, adding new provisions to incorporate existing requirements of this chapter in new sections, and to add more stringent regulations pertaining to cruelty to animals in new County Code § 4-301. The subject matter of Chapter 4 is composed of: Article 1, Administration; Article 2, Dogs (Div. 1, Licenses, Div. 2, Dangerous Dogs, Div. 3, Vicious Dogs, and Div. 4, Dogs Running at Large and Dogs Damaging Livestock or Poultry); and Article 3 (Div. 1, Animal Welfare, Div. 2, Seizure, Impoundment, and Disposition, Div. 3, Rabies Control, and Div. 4, Stolen Dogs and Cats, and Noise).

  • Thank you for attending today's public hearing. During the 2018 Calendar Year, the Chair is Ann H. Mallek and the Vice-Chair is Norman G. Dill.

  • During the time set aside for "Matters Not Listed for Public Hearing on the Agenda", individuals may address the Board of Supervisors concerning any issue not listed on the agenda for Public Hearing. Individuals are allowed three minutes to speak, unless otherwise decided. A sign-up sheet is provided at the meeting. During Public Hearings, the Board will only acknowledge speakers addressing the item listed for Public Hearing. Speakers are limited to one appearance of three minutes per public hearing item. A sign-up sheet is provided at the meeting and you may sign up online in advance of the meeting at http://www.albemarle.org/bosspeakers/. Speakers will be called forward in an alternating pattern of in person sign ups and online sign ups. Applicants are limited to a ten minute presentation of their proposal and are allowed a five minute rebuttal at the close of the public hearing.
