Is there a motion to go into closed session?

Pursuant to Section 2.2-3712 of the Virginia Code, I hereby move that City Council close this open meeting and convene in the closed session as authorized by Virginia Code Section 2.2-3711A1 for discussion and consideration of prospective candidates for employment and or appointment to the position of City Manager for the City of Charlottesville.

Yes, I move that this council certify by a recorded vote that to the best of each council member's knowledge, only public business matters lawfully exempted from the open meeting requirements of the Virginia Freedom of Information Act and identified in the motion convening the closed session or heard, discussed, or considered in the closed session.
